I went and saw the Host about two weeks ago, and looked up today and saw that it's coming out July 24th on DVD. It's a Korean film by director Joon-ho Bong and it stars Kang-ho Song (one of the main recurring cast members for Park Chan-Wook fans like me, Oldboy and Lady Vengeance). I was really into the special effects and the awesome acting on the part of all cast members, but what was really cool about this film was that it was definitely a grade A monster movie. The plot may have been typical in its way of approaching the monster movie mayhem, but this movie brought the classic genre into the 21st century. Anyway what I'm trying to say is it's a good rent for a Friday or Saturday night when you have nothing else going for you. There are some really awesome Korean movies out there, so go check some out!
