9-25 Daifuku Field Trip

As part of my economics class we went on a field trip to a Daifuku distribution plant to see exactly how the company operated. We got to see some pretty advanced robotics, and we really got to see first hand the new robots that were soon going to take over human jobs. They were efficient, fast, and very skilled... it was rather scary actually. Some of the things that a lot of the robots were cable of, their ability to use sensors when approached with a problem or situation, and their programming to react in a certain way to situational problems was amazing.

The plant was in Omihachiman, so we had to take the train there (it was really an all day event) but I found it for the most part interesting. We got our picture taken as a group, and I now have to write up a report on the experience. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside at all though.

(PS The last picture is Hikone... again)
